PepsiCo Pioneers Advanced Automation in Grodzisk Mazowiecki

In a significant step towards optimizing its supply chain, PepsiCo Polska is collaborating with Mecalux to establish a state-of-the-art intelligent warehouse in Grodzisk Mazowiecki. Scheduled for activation in the third quarter of 2026, this new facility underscores PepsiCo’s commitment to advanced logistics automation, designed to bolster capacity and streamline cargo movement directly from production lines. Crucially, this ambitious project will achieve its objectives without requiring any physical expansion of the current building, showcasing efficient space utilization and innovative design.

Cutting-Edge Technology for Unmatched Efficiency

The core of this new automated warehouse lies in its sophisticated technological integration. The system will feature an automated Pallet Shuttle system complemented by six stacker cranes, ensuring high-density storage and rapid pallet retrieval. Furthermore, an Electric Monorail System (EMS) and an array of automatic conveyors will establish a seamless connection between the warehouse and production lines, facilitating continuous 24/7 pallet circulation. This setup guarantees an uninterrupted flow of goods, minimizing manual intervention and maximizing throughput.

Intelligent Management and Sustainability at its Core

Managing the complexity of this advanced operation will be Mecalux’s Easy WMS software, fully integrated with PepsiCo’s existing SAP eWM system. This synergy ensures precise inventory control, optimized storage strategies, and real-time operational visibility. Beyond efficiency, the new warehouse is also engineered with sustainability in mind. It will incorporate innovative technologies such as an energy recovery system for the stacker cranes, projected to yield 15-20% energy savings. Additionally, an AI-assisted image recognition system will enhance operational accuracy and security. These advancements contribute to PepsiCo’s broader environmental goals, with the investment expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 200 tons annually.

Strategic Advantages for Modern Businesses

PepsiCo's investment in this intelligent warehouse highlights the transformative potential of automation for businesses seeking to optimize their logistics and supply chain operations. The project aims to:

Optimize Warehouse Processes: Streamlining operations from storage to retrieval.
Increase Capacity: Maximizing storage within existing footprints.
Lower Logistics Costs: Reducing labor, energy, and operational expenses.
Enable Direct Deliveries: Enhancing responsiveness and speed to market.
Reduce Environmental Impact: Contributing to sustainability targets through energy efficiency and emission reductions.

For businesses considering their next move in warehouse or logistics space, PepsiCo's Grodzisk facility serves as a prime example of how strategic investment in smart automation can deliver significant returns, enhance competitiveness, and pave the way for a more sustainable future in the logistics sector.
