Panattoni Europe and Carrefour say bonjour, this time near Rawa Mazowiecka. The developer has been selected for the second time running by Carrefour Poland, an omnichannel multiformat retail chain, to deliver modern warehouse space. The facility with more than 63,600 sqm is being built on a site exceeding 20 hectares in Rawa Mazowiecka. The warehouse section will take up 61,500 sqm and will be divided into several zones, including temperature-controlled zones. Offices and staff facilities have been laid out on 2100 sqm. The investment in Rawa Mazowiecka will be the third distribution centre in the current supply chain of Carrefour Poland, from which all stationary network formats in Central and Eastern Poland will be operated by ID Logistics. The final completion of the facility is planned for Q4 2019, with early access granted to the tenant already in September. The lease has been signed for 10 years.

The distribution centre for Carrefour Poland in Rawa Mazowiecka is already the second project implemented for the tenant. Its predecessor, with close to 38,200 sqm, was delivered in 2016/2017 in Bydgoszcz. Marek Dobrzycki, Managing Director Panattoni Europe, comments: “The distribution centre for Carrefour in Central Poland is a strategic undertaking, with specific targets and objectives. I am glad that Carrefour chose us to realise them, resuming our successful business relationship.”

Adam Grochal, Supply Chain Director Carrefour Poland, stresses: “The project in Rawa Mazowiecka is another collaboration, after the warehouse in Bydgoszcz opened in 2017, that we are taking on together with Panattoni, hoping for a similarly good experience. The new distribution centre will enable us to automate some of our processes and cut back on the number of kilometres covered by our supply vehicles, which will have a positive impact on our logistics chain. As of 2020, this facility will serve our stores in Central Poland, which we strongly believe will ensure a superior service for the customers of our stationary stores as well as those shopping online.”

FMCG taste best with Panattoni Europe. The developer has extensive experience in delivering modern warehouse space dedicated to the FMCG sector, which requires specific solutions in terms of product storage and distribution operations. For this reason, the BTS facility for Carrefour Poland will be more than just a warehouse with some office space. The different articles to be stored there, which can be divided into product groups: non-perishables (food and non-food) and perishables (meat, dairy, fruit and vegetables), require different temperature parameters.

The new investment for Carrefour Poland will be built in Central Poland near Rawa Mazowiecka, which is currently one of the most desirable locations in this sector. The facility itself will be right next to the S8 expressway, running from Wrocław to Białystok, and 100km from the intersection of the A1 and A2 motorways. The location halfway between Łódź and Warsaw, with access to major thoroughfares, will enable the tenant to fully reach the strategic targets in serving its markets – Central and Eastern Poland.
